Terms

The deal, written down.

What you get, what it costs, what happens if it isn't right. Same plain language as everything else here.

Last updated: July 27, 2026

The short version: you pay for the audit up front, we deliver it on the schedule we agreed, and the findings are yours to keep and use however you like. If we haven't started work yet, you get a full refund, no questions. If you're unhappy with what we delivered, tell us and we'll make it right or refund you. We give business advice, not legal, tax, or financial advice.

Who these terms are between

These terms cover services bought from Ownfri, operated by Alex del Valle in Colorado, United States. "We" and "us" mean Ownfri. "You" means the person or business buying the service. Using this site or paying for an engagement means you accept what's on this page.

What the Owner Dependency Audit is

The audit is a diagnostic engagement. We examine how your business currently depends on you, and we deliver a written report with our findings and a 90-day roadmap for reducing that dependency. The exact scope, the interviews and materials involved, and the delivery date are confirmed in writing before you pay.

The audit is a set of findings and recommendations. It is not an implementation service, and buying it does not commit us to executing the roadmap for you. Ongoing work is a separate engagement.

Payment

  • Fees are quoted and charged in US dollars.
  • Payment for the audit is due in full before work begins, unless we've agreed something different in writing.
  • Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself.
  • Your receipt comes from Stripe by email as soon as the payment clears.
  • Prices quoted to you are held for 30 days.

Refunds

We would rather refund you than have you feel stuck with something that didn't help.

  • Before work begins: a full refund, for any reason or none, just email us.
  • After work begins but before delivery: a partial refund reflecting the work already done, which we'll set out plainly so you can see the arithmetic.
  • After delivery: if the audit didn't give you what we said it would, tell us within 14 days. We'll either fix the gap or refund you. We'd rather do the first.

Refunds return to the original payment method and normally land within five to ten business days once issued.

Rescheduling and your part of the work

An audit needs your time: interviews, access to how things actually run, and honest answers. If we can't get those, the work stalls. Give us as much notice as you can when something has to move, and we'll do the same. If an engagement goes dormant on your side for more than 60 days, we may close it out and refund the unworked portion.

What you own, and what we keep

The report we write for you, and everything in it about your business, is yours. Use it, share it internally, act on it, hand it to your accountant. We keep ownership of the underlying methods, frameworks, templates, and assessment tools we bring to the work, and of anything we've published on this site.

Confidentiality

What you tell us about your business stays between us. We won't name you as a client publicly without asking first, and we won't quote you in marketing without your say-so. See the privacy policy for how we handle your data in general.

What this advice is and isn't

We give business and operational advice based on what we observe. We are not lawyers, accountants, or licensed financial advisors, and nothing we deliver is legal, tax, investment, or accounting advice. Run material decisions past the right professional.

We also can't promise a result. We can promise a rigorous look at your business and a roadmap we believe in. What happens after that depends on what you do with it, and on a hundred things neither of us controls.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to an engagement is capped at what you paid us for it. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses like lost profits or lost business opportunity. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that can't legally be limited.

Ending an engagement

Either of us can end an engagement in writing at any time. If we end it, you get a refund of the unworked portion. If you end it, the refund terms above apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, and any dispute belongs in the courts located there.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. The terms that apply to your engagement are the ones in force on the day you paid.

Questions

Anything unclear here, ask before you pay: hello@ownfri.com. We'd rather answer a question than argue about a clause later.
